Brigid Poetry

There's two. The first one is not mine. I do not know whose it is.

Ring the bells that still may ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in



This one is mine:

I
I tried
I grew on the inside
Maybe you can't see it
Maybe you can
I was there
There for the new experiences
I was there for the successes
I was there for the failures
Old relationships fell away
New ones formed
No strings
Solid
Slow
I was awake for my life
It happens anyway
Awake, asleep, life
Awake, my growth is my dream
My life, my dream

The first one reminds me of something I read in a book by Salley Vickers - it's the mistakes that let the light in. I always use it with my students to get them to realise that in my classes it's all right to make mistakes, that is how they will learn.
